March 1-28, 2010 – Find the Moose Contest

This special contest is open for children up to age 12 to find all the MOOSE located throughout the store and win fun prizes.  Winners will be posted

beginning March 30th on the store bulletin board.  Ask for an entry form, which also has rules printed on the back of the form.  Happy MOOSE Hunting!

 

 

March 6, 2010 (9am to 3pm) – Train Show – Maryland Steam Historical Society

Held at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department, TMC will be offering DCC demonstrations throughout the day.

Product and food vendors will also be there.

March 26, 2010 7pm– History of the Maryland Midland Railway Slide Show

Seating will be limited, so please call the store to reserve your spot for this special presentation.  For all MMID fans, this pictorial history of the

Maryland Midland Railway will be sure to impress you. 

 

 

April ?, 2010 7pm- DCC (Digital Command Control) Class
For those of you who have or are thinking about DCC, our Guest Instructor will walk you through the basics on wiring, programming and operating

your NCE DCC system. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and answers during this informative, yet informal class.

 

 

April 24, 2010 *** HELD ON A SATURDAY 10am - Fundamentals of Model Train Airbrushing
Our Guest Instructor will walk you through the ABC's of airbrushing techniques. From simple painting to basic weathering, you'll enjoy this new class.

 

 

May 7, 2010 7pm - Garden Trains Spectacular
A popular repeat from last year, here is your chance to learn all the basics to have a successful G-Scale layout outdoors, whether in a small space or larger

area.  From ground preparation, laying track and electronics and maintenance issues, we will answer your questions on this family outdoor hobby.

 

 

May 15, 2010 *** HELD ON A SATURDAY 10am – Outside Air Demonstration

Only held if there are favorable flying conditions, our Guest instructor will demonstrate various techniques in flying helicopters and airplanes.  Talk to

an expert in flying techniques, especially if you’re new to micro-heli’s.

 

 

June 11, 2010 7pm – HO/N Scale Engine & Track Maintenance Class

Back by popular demand, this informal class will teach you the basics on how to keep your fleet running perfectly. We will show you how to clean and

lubricate your engines, do basic adjustments to your rolling stock and tips on how to keep your track clean for maximum operating pleasure.

 

 

June 19, 2010 *** HELD ON A SATURDAY 1pm to 3pm – R/C RALLY DAY Outside Demonstration

This is your opportunity to see some exciting R/C action and run on a small obstacle course (see store for details) and have an opportunity to meet and

speak with our qualified R/C technicians.

September 18, 2010 10am-3pm (rain or shine) - Annual Customer Appreciation Day

This is our day to thank YOU for your support and patronage.  Every year just gets better and better.  Check out our video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a3nhKfLmmA) from last year’s day and you will see the fun we’ve had. 

Club demonstrations, R/C demonstrations, railroad displays, a ride on train, games for the children, face painting and many specials planned for the day.

Light complimentary refreshments served throughout the day. Can we beat our record again this year for # of hotdogs given away??? We hope so!

*How to enhance your layout with realistic and simple techniques. 

*How to tips on making your scenery project easy and fun by discussing basic foundation options. 

*How to easily put together trees for your layout. 

*How to add a water feature to your layout, using water effects and other acrylic based products.
